彭于晏、張涵予主演《湄公河行動》在大陸上映至24日止，已獲10.84億人民幣（逾50億台幣）票房，全台目前票房累積千萬。導演林超賢23日攜張、彭２人在北京慶功，劇組更從票房中拿出一筆資金，為13位湄公河遇難同胞家屬創建捐款基金，慰問同胞。
林超賢說電影開拍之初，遭遇很多困難，甚至想放棄，表示香港導演拍攝大陸公安題材極具挑戰。為答謝觀眾，劇組釋出刪減片段，回饋影迷。該片段是張涵予及彭于晏在假裝與敵方談判前一天，被敵方試探的戲碼。片中張的爆發力與彭于晏的小心翼翼，讓２人性格形成鮮明對比。
為何刪掉這場戲？林超賢說，因電影片長已達124分鐘，考慮時間長，只好忍痛割愛。張涵予打趣：「他是全能導演，怎麼決定都對。」彭被問及與張涵予對戲說：「非常享受跟涵予哥對戲的爆發，讓我也很容易入戲。」
林超賢說，雖然《湄公河》在大場面上花了很多力氣，但他認為動作電影能否好看，關鍵在文戲。他也表示，刪減片段中，張、彭表現都很出色，剪掉也是無奈之舉。電影熱映中。
